Pick+, a multifunctional station

What is included?

• Pick+ station
• Aluminum picking tool with filter installed and 1m soft silicone tube
• 6 different size bent blunt needle tips
• 24V 2A power brick  (notice: cord with IEC C13 connector is not included but you probably already own a few)
• Quick start guide and link to digital version of the full instructions, also linked below

Optional

• One wired footswitch
• One or more wireless footswitches (a CR2032 coin cell is required per footswitch, not included due to shipping restrictions)
• Dispensing kit (includes 30cc syringe with end and front cap and “piston”, dispensing adapter, 10x different sized blunt needle tips (two of each size) and luer coupler)

Additional items that are required but not included

• 1x CR2032 coin cell for each wireless footswitch (buy a good brand locally)
• Power cord with IEC C13 connector and the correct plug for your country (you probably already own a few but if not here is an example on aliexpress)

Why did I build this?

Short answer: I needed it and it was fun to build.

All started back in 2017, initially as two different projects, a desoldering station (which I immediately started calling Slurp because of the sound it makes when sucking the solder) and a picking tool, each mounted on a separate breadboard. One day I looked at the two breadboards and I was basically using the same components for both so I decided to combine them and I called it Slurp’nPick. Since the pump was quite powerful I decided to try dispensing solder paste and it worked, so I added this functionality as well. I later also added the blow and vacuum feature, with these many additional features I just added a ‘+’ at the end of the name, Slurp’nPick+. Because I already had enough dangling wires around my bench, I decided to integrate an earlier project I had made (wireless mail sensor) to the footswitch, turning it wireless. Later I created a more affordable version without desoldering capabilities,  Pick+.
